Kassanda Youth Urge Museveni to Address Concerns Ahead of December Visit
Youth leaders in Kassanda have asked President Museveni to prioritise road rehabilitation, financial support to youth groups and stronger mobilisation structures during his upcoming December 17, 2025 visit, saying these interventions are essential for improving livelihoods and reinforcing NRM support in the district.

Youth in Kassanda District, under their umbrella group the Kassanda Youth NRM Mobilisation Team, have appealed to President Museveni to address the pressing challenges they face as they work to improve their livelihoods.

The appeal was made during a mobilisation meeting held in Kassanda Town, where the group officially launched its team as part of efforts to reinforce support for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in the district.

At the gathering, the youths highlighted the need for government intervention in improving road infrastructure, particularly the Myanzi–Kassanda Road, alongside increased financial support to youth groups.

One of the team leaders said they are committed to supporting the NRM but need the President to consider their concerns to enable their economic progress.

The group is also preparing for the President’s planned visit to Kassanda on December 17, 2025, during which he is expected to address residents and rally support ahead of the 2026 elections.

The youth said the visit offers them a critical opportunity to present their concerns directly to the Head of State.

They added that they often face criticism from rival political groups who accuse the NRM of losing support among young people, a claim they dispute.

Another youth member said they intend to demonstrate unity and strong support for the NRM when the President visits the district.

During the launch, Kagaba Eri, the Deputy NRM Chairperson for Kassanda District, congratulated the young people for forming the mobilisation team and urged them to work tirelessly to expand the party’s influence across the district.

He also encouraged them to remain disciplined as they seek support for the ruling party, and to embody the movement’s values through their conduct.

The team says it is ready to continue sensitising fellow youths, strengthening party structures and ensuring the NRM regains overwhelming support in Kassanda as the 2026 elections draw near.
